When is the Next Final Fantasy XIV Live Letter?
Final Fantasy XIV stands out among an abundance of MMO’s for players by its developers’ commitment to building meaningful connections between themselves and players – especially players of Final Fantasy XIV itself – through an intimate connection. Year after year, Final Fantasy XIV wins best community awards thanks to features like Live Letter from Producers where directors like Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida and Toshio Murouchi announce what new things may come to Final Fantasy in future content updates.
Final Fantasy XIV players eagerly anticipate large expansions, yet smaller, intermediary patches are often just as satisfying for players. Updates occur once or twice every two months with larger patches usually getting two Live Letter announcements prior to being revealed as playable content – fans have noticed an established pattern between when one Live Letter goes public, the release of another Live Letter airs, and then when its respective patch goes live.
Last Live Letter from the Producer highlighted part one of Patch 6.4, one of our larger patches with plenty of Main Scenario Quests, Trials and sidequests to complete. Based on past timelines for patch releases and Live Letter announcements, players should expect news about a new patch between late July and early August. As Fan Fest will take place between July 28 and 29, it could serve as the initial announcement for Patch 6.5’s release at the end of September. Players will gain more information regarding Patch 6.5 when it releases, such as what gear will drop from content, any additions made to Island Sanctuaries and when its date might be confirmed (possibly sometime between early to mid September).
Anyone wanting to watch the broadcast will have to wake up quite early depending on where you reside in order to catch it on YouTube, Niconico Live and Twitch platforms in the U.S. At 4 am PDT it should air live through these platforms.
