Star Wars Jedi Survivor Sequel Confirmed through Job Listing
Star Wars fans have much to look forward to this month. Disney+ will release Ahsoka at the end of February and Ubisoft has promised an amazing Star Wars Outlaws experience later in 2019. Both these releases should keep fans excited until then!
Now however, Respawn Entertainment appears to have accidentally confirmed that work on a third Star Wars Jedi game may already have started just months after releasing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This news came via job listing which was first noted by Reddit user Hard2DaC0re at r/GamingLeaksAndRumours.
Job Listing For: Principal Game Writer (Star Wars Jedi)! It was recently posted and seeks out “a highly skilled principal game writer who will embrace our philosophy while offering their hard-won expertise towards providing players with an unforgettable Star Wars experience in an engaging third person action adventure setting.” Here’s the exact wording from their role description: “We need someone with extensive expertise who will embrace our philosophy while sharing this expertise to deliver an awesome third-person action adventure experience”
Exciting! However, this news shouldn’t come as too much of a shock; during his interview with IGN Unfiltered, Star Wars Jedi game director Stig Asmussen indicated a trilogy was under consideration even prior to Fallen Order being released.
“My goal for Survivor was always envisioned as part of a trilogy; how can we take Cal and his crew further than we had already explored in its initial form?” said Lemieux. “We had an idea about when and where Survivor should take place as well as its timeframe, stakes, tone of game play, what challenges Cal would be up against and the team dynamics; plus ideas of what else might happen beyond these constraints as well.”
At this time, there’s no specific time or date set to announce this untitled third Star Wars Jedi game or when its scheduled launch might occur. We remain hopeful and frosty!
