GTA 6 fans criticise Rockstar over how the game was announced.
Fans are becoming impatient after nearly 15 months since Rockstar Games revealed they were working on GTA VI, yet few updates have come forth since then.
Well, when we say a lack of updates”, we mean it literally. Since Grand Theft Auto VI’s development announcement in February 2022, Rockstar Games has been extremely tight-lipped on details; therefore, all we can rely on for now are gameplay leaks of an early build and endless speculation and rumor mill speculations.
At this point, neither we know when nor where GTA VI will take place, though rumors indicate a possible return to Vice City or South America as possible settings for it. Furthermore, no details exist yet on what its story may entail – however there have been reports revealing two playable protagonists named Jason and Lucia may feature prominently within it.
Without more news from Rockstar Games, all this speculation remains unverifiable; fans longingly await any kind of official update from them; indeed some fear they may die before seeing this game released!
“What made Rockstar announce GTA VI development is scheduled for 2022?” asked Redditor skyrimlo.
Since it’s unveiling in February 2022, there has been no official information or updates regarding this game,” they continued. “Why announce it then if they weren’t going to provide us any development updates or promotional material?” This Reddit user makes some great arguments in support of his point and much of the thread agrees with their analysis.
“Damage control,” asserted 0zer0zer0 with no misgiving. According to Appropriate-Can-6795’s explanation regarding Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition’s chaotic nature, damage control was indeed being employed as damage repair measures against negative press coverage they were receiving as part of an investor appeal strategy.
“Honestly I think they keep changing their minds on what to do; soon after the leaks they mentioned more information would come soon about the game; my gut feeling tells me we won’t get an announcement this year – only time will tell.”
At present, no one knows when Rockstar Games will reveal details for Grand Theft Auto VI. Our hope is that some gameplay or even an official release date could arrive this year; however, with reports suggesting GTA VI won’t arrive before 2024-2025 we could still face quite the wait indeed.
Grand Theft Auto VI will soon be made available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
