PlayStation users can get 7 free Far Cry games now.
Few games capture the open-world gaming experience as effectively as Far Cry does, which both presents advantages and challenges for its player base. It may also prove problematic due to a potentially overwhelming world map populated with overly detailed terrain models that lack depth compared to more traditionally-focused open world titles like Grand Theft Auto V or Halo 4.
Ubisoft may have tried taking some risks with Far Cry Primal and New Dawn, yet still manages to coast along on their tried-and-tested list of open world nonsense: there are bases to take down, waypoints to head toward, and so many pointless side quests for additional loot.
However, that does not preclude these games from providing enjoyable ways of passing a weekend – quite the contrary! I can personally vouch for that having never had any negative experience while playing any Far Cry game – not even PlayStation Plus subscribers who wish to unlock free copies right now can find their perfect fit from seven entries in this franchise!
PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can currently take advantage of an offer to download seven Far Cry games:
Far CRY 3: BLOOD DRAGON CLASSIC EDITION is one of our all-time favourite expansions and marks a radical departure from its core experience. Far Cry 4 is slightly better in some regards while simultaneously worse in others.
Far Cry 5 – Far Cry 5, while not quite on par with Far Cry 4, is still great fun and should receive much greater appreciation than it received during its release. Far Cry Primal – It may have the feel of Far Cry but adds cavemen for added fun, making an unusual twist of its own in Far Cry Primal; too bad this game doesn’t receive more love despite this combination. Finally Far Cry New Dawn doesn’t receive anywhere near enough attention but deserves so much more praise!
Far Cry 3 Classic Edition remains an amazing open world adventure that still stands the test of time, while Far Cry 6 Standard Edition was probably my least favourite Far Cry experience; yet still had some enjoyable moments to offer.
As long as your PlayStation Plus Extra subscription remains paid-up and active, these seven titles can be added to your library and downloaded at any time – plus there are 11 Assassin’s Creed titles included as bonuses!
