Xbox Series S gets substantial price drop, for those in search of Starfield gaming machines
Starfield is fast approaching, leaving PlayStation and Switch users to grapple with an immense dilemma – succumb to peer pressure and purchase the next-gen Xbox or wait and risk months of FOMO?
As console prices increase over time, choosing between them can be tricky. Unfortunately, Microsoft’s high-powered Xbox Series X will rise even higher next month; but we do still have the Xbox Series S as an affordable alternative that still packs enough power compared to its more costly cousin. As well as that benefit though, both options could make an equally worthwhile contribution towards gaming enjoyment – providing gamers with some relief on their budgets!
An Xbox Series S typically costs PS249.99 – much cheaper than its more powerful Series X counterpart which starts out at PS449.99 but soon drops down to PS479.99). At Amazon at the time of writing this, however, they were offering it even cheaper so Starfield players can have their own dedicated machine at even less of an upfront cost!
Today, Amazon is offering certified refurbished Series S consoles at just over PS203 each; an outstanding value. Amazon states that these pre-owned consoles undergo an exhaustive certification process that ensures everything works as advertised – at worst there may just be cosmetic damage present.
If you don’t prefer Amazon, certified refurbished Series S consoles can also be bought directly from Xbox at prices starting from PS209.99; Amazon remains slightly more economical; click here for their listing.
Starfield will run at 30fps on both Series S and X consoles, so in terms of frame rate you won’t miss out by choosing to use one that costs less money; however, its resolution might only reach 1440p as opposed to 4K on Series X if this resolution difference matters to you.
Starfield will arrive and in gamers’ hands on 6 September.
