Gex Trilogy for modern consoles was officially unveiled.

Gex has returned, and with him comes an exciting collection of games on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch! Don’t go anywhere; everyone stop what they are doing – Gex’s here and ready to stay put for good this time around.

Are You Lost Without Knowing About Gex? Allow Me To Explain! Originally released for PlayStation 1 and Sega Saturn in 1995, Gex was an entertaining 2D platformer featuring its titular protagonist’s adventures through the Media Dimension where film and TV tropes come to life. Later it made the jump into 3D on PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, PC.

Every entry was heavily inspired by various television and movie genres, with Gex making jokes aimed at real media figures or celebrities – which quickly became part of his character’s repertoire.

Since 1999, Gex hasn’t graced our screens, with Square Enix seemingly making no plans to revive his series and bring fans another entry; something which fans have long lamented. Now there is good news; everyone’s favourite lizard will return in an all new modern platform collection from Limited Run Games!

Limited Run is well-renowned for reviving retro video games for modern platforms – something much needed with 87% of retro games said to have vanished into history. Last night during their livestream they announced they will soon release Gex: Trilogy on shelves but no release date or preorder options have yet been provided.

Gex: Enter The Gecko and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko will all be included as part of this compilation, using Carbon Engine technology for remastering purposes and made available on Xbox Series X/S consoles, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 consoles, Nintendo Switch systems, PC via Steam as well.

Erraticly enough, Gex isn’t the only video game reptile being revived – recently reported is Croc’s HD remake!

Fans can rest easy knowing their beloved gecko’s return is imminent; no official release date has been set as of yet.
