Skyblivion Project Lead Appears Before Discord Server Administrator To Discuss Hack (Update)
Modders have invested tremendous energy and effort into making sure Skyrim continues to advance and evolve over time, since its release into society.
Many players have sought to alter the game by adding unique characters, useful mechanics and fresh adventures – with some going as far as giving your Dragonborn an engaging brawl or earning Dibella’s blessing without breaking into temples intruding upon.
Some projects are even more ambitious, attempting to open up massive new areas or recreate previous entries of Elder Scrolls series for players to explore or recreate an entire previous game altogether. Unfortunately, Skyblivion (one of the highly-anticipated examples of such) team is currently encountering difficulty dealing with a Discord hack which poses as one of its obstacles for completion.
Are you excited to experience what the Skyblivion team have been working on?
Rebelzize, Project’s Lead on Discord has recently taken to social media in an appeal for assistance after their account on Discord was compromised and attacked by someone, with claims they’ve been attacking and removing anything related to this mod from servers dedicated to it.
“My life’s work is being dismantled piecemeal and every minute counts,” wrote one modder in their original post, noting in another post how two servers have been affected – Skyblivion Community Server with almost 39k members, as well as another development-centric one dedicated to their mod.
Rebelzize disclosed to us: “It is difficult to predict exactly what they have access to; however, internally we are in crisis mode and taking every possible measure in damage control,” and shared their main fear that their opponent leak the build of their mod or access contact info of some of Rebelzize’s friends which they may have gained access through various online platforms they utilize.
They added that “stalking, death threats, harassment, and now hacks as well” have contributed significantly to the heavy toll being involved with such projects takes on developers.
“People on my team, including myself (including) already sacrifice so much. People have no idea the amount of work and dedication involved with this project – now on top of it you have to deal with this nonsense,” wrote a modder who still hadn’t received an official response from Discord regarding her issue at writing time.
Rebelzize stressed that, in spite of the hack, his team would “keep pushing forward”, with hope being expressed that any damage done won’t be too extensive to the project itself.
Skyblivion is currently set for a 2025 release and an extensive roadmap video has provided insight into its development process.
