Modder of Fallout London breaks down Starfield’s weapons animations
The hard-core Bethesda RPG players who have invested thousands of hour into Skyrim, Fallsout 4, and Starfield are eagerly awaiting the release.
While some are passing time between now and September reading the huge fan-created documentation, which details the history of the game to date, others have been watching June’s Starfield Direct again in order to find subtle nuances that they may have missed.
Check out this video by one modder who is putting together London arsenal if you are interested in weapons and their potential in combat with interstellar wildlife or pirates.
How would you rate the gunplay you have seen in Starfield up to now?
The video below is a selection of interesting clips that show off character animations. It also explains how they differ from those in other titles, such as Fallout 4, in subtle but noticeable ways.
They also point out that the blending of certain animations between player movements, like walking and shooting a gun, has been altered in a way to make the game more fluid.
The modders also compare some of the weapon parts to the ones in their mods. These include the Select Shotgun and Lewis Gun . This reveals that unlike the Direct mod, the rotating magazine of the mod is built to track where the gun has been rotated when it stops being fired.
Neeher also mentions a few amusing miscues in the animation, like “the classic NPC turning a bolt using a wrench which isn’t there.”
This video focuses on NPCs. The modder noticed that Sarah Morgan’s body-tracking animation as she walked by looked more sophisticated than Fallout 4’s small head movements.
