There’s no question about it; Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 stands as one of this year’s most anticipated video games; yet its release in several countries remains uncertain.

This sequel to 2018’s excellent web-slinging adventure looks absolutely spectacular: in its open world setting, players are free to switch freely between Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they use their abilities for exciting Spidey things in New York. Peter eventually gets his hands on a Symbiote suit at some point too; that looks ridiculously overpowered (but enjoyable nonetheless!). Furthermore, its world is twice the size as before! Just think of all those backpacks you could hide!

VGC reports that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will hit theaters on 20 October; however, fans in certain Middle Eastern nations such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates cannot preorder Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

On Reddit, some fans reported that the release date on PlayStation Store is simply showing as “to be determined”, with no option for adding it directly into carts. One user reported having preordered before it was “removed”, later receiving a full refund of their purchase price. Furthermore, age ratings appear to have been removed entirely from local PlayStation website listings for this game.

At present, fan reports indicate different scenarios: some claim they were told by PlayStation Support that the game will indeed release on 20 October while other accounts indicate it might not come out at all in the Middle East region. As such, Sony is yet to issue an official response and clarify what is taking place here.
