PlayStation Plus games provide over 113 hours of combined playing time – enough for an entire month’s worth of gaming bliss!

July’s offerings were particularly generous, providing gamers access to Alan Wake Remastered, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Endling – Extinction is Forever – among many others. You have just a few more days left to download these titles if any spark your interest; I recommend Endling but be warned it can be one of the more stressful games this year!

PlayStation Plus subscribers had high hopes for August’s free games, but not everyone is convinced the selection really delivers on that promise. Still, there’s lots of excitement waiting if you are willing to give these titles a chance!

Death’s Door, PGA Tour 2K23 and Dreams have been announced as free games for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers in August – not a bad selection indeed, especially considering Dreams offers thousands of individual games all in one go – some may simply be interactive shitposts but some truly outstanding works exist too!

However, the PlayStation Plus subreddit took the time and trouble of doing their math and determined that there’s more than 113 hours of gameplay between all three titles – not an enormous amount, but still good value for money!

Howlongtobeat.com shows us that playing PGA Tour 2K23 fully will take around 32 hours for completionists if played via virtual golf simulator. I don’t think many people want to dedicate that kind of time, but the option exists should you so desire.

Dreams is another game with at least 66 hours of content to offer and more than enough replay value to last decades or longer. It is incredibly accessible; simply dip in every now and again for some creative playback even if you feel powerless over anything yourself; there are whole-ass games there you won’t believe you created yourself! Trust me when I say there are truly fantastic ones too.

Death’s Door, my personal pick for this month. Completing its charming Zelda-esque adventure usually takes about 15 hours – perfect to play over multiple weekends! Plus its postgame content will entice you further!

All told, I spent approximately 113 hours of pure joy, plus or minus an afternoon spent golfing.
