Spending nearly $800 just on Starfield is certainly extravagant; though in fairness to this person who spent so much money upgrading their PC in addition to playing this videogame.
Starfield from Bethesda Interactive Studios is being highly anticipated, and excitement about it has skyrocketed – sending its buzz into overdrive and drawing expectations up too high for their comfort level. However, such lofty expectations always run the risk of disappointment being met head on by reality – sometimes much sooner than anticipated!
Bethesda games have earned themselves a reputation of being somewhat glitchy at launch; however, Bethesda promises that Starfield will be its least buggy release, to offer some assurance to potential purchasers of Starfield.
PC gamers appear more at risk, given The Last of Us Part I and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as examples, in terms of experiencing a buggy launch experience. Furthermore, Bethesda may cause further concern due to their recent partnership agreement with PC tech provider AMD.
Which leaves gamers who spent nearly $800 to play Starfield more concerned. “So, today I was randomly scrolling across Reddit and news articles when something caught my attention: AMD announced its partnership with Bethesda for Starfield by offering free copies with selected AMD CPU purchases,” stated Redditor Domosnake.
After purchasing an AMD CPU, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM 32GB and new motherboard from eBay and paying $734 to ship this free copy of Starfield (this would have cost this gamer around $634 more if purchased as Premium Edition PC or Xbox Series X|S). Domosnake hopes the launch goes smoothly and his money was well spent!
Starfield will launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S on 6 September 2023; preorder the Premium or Constellation Edition to have it arrive a week earlier (that date would then become 1 September). Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have early access.
