Remnant 2 will soon be playable on Steam Deck! Remnant 2, the sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, puts humanity’s surviving members face-to-face with deadly creatures and demonic bosses across nightmarish realms in an intense struggle for survival.
No matter whether you go in alone or join up with two others for co-op gameplay, chances are good you want to know if Steam Deck supports your game of choice.
Gunfire Games recently shared some good news regarding Steam Deck support: it will indeed be available when their game officially releases on July 25th.

Will Remnant 2 be playable on Steam Deck?
Valve currently utilizes four categories to define game compatibility with Steam Deck: verified, playable, unsupported or unknown. Each classification holds different implications; here, however, we focus on Remnant 2 specifically as our example game.
Remnant 2’s Steam Deck support status has officially been verified as of July 2023, when Gunfire Games confirmed via twitter that crossplay would become available upon Remnant’s PC launch on 25 July.

The developer also mentioned Steam Deck support on Discord and suggested some ways of optimizing it within its settings for optimal performance:
“To keep things on a level playing field, keep 1200×800 with shadow settings set at Medium (for performance purposes), with only changes made from default being shadow settings – I feel this creates the ideal balance.”
Gearbox and Gunfire Games did respond, though neither would comment at that time on whether crossplay support will be included or not. We are pleased that it’s finally confirmed on Steam deck – now, just waiting on that crossplay functionality!
One thing we know for certain about Remnant 2’s release date: Xbox Game Pass will not support its availability at that point. In preparation, we suggest familiarising yourself with Archetypes before the game arrives on shelves.
