PlayStation Plus free bonus game can quickly engage and charm gamers.
PlayStation Plus subscribers have enjoyed a promising start this month, receiving three new free titles across all tiers.
Dreams is a play, share and create game which allows users to make anything they can imagine and publish it for others to experience. PGA Tour 2K23 and Death’s Door round out this trio of PlayStation Plus titles; today we focus specifically on Dreams as we discuss what its potential offers.
Dreams was released for PlayStation 4 back in 2020 to give its users an innovative toolkit to create anything imaginable – games, music videos, artwork and much more – using imagination as your only limitation. While Dreams users have produced incredible work since it first arrived on PS4, one group of game developers created something truly amazing called Tren, now available as a free update in Dreams.
Tren is an addictive train simulation game in which you control toy trains to navigate 95 levels, each one featuring its own challenges, themes, obstacles and creative mode for building tracks of your own! You have complete control of them from starting point to destination point!
John Beech, Creative Director at Media Molecule, spoke about this project in a PlayStation Blog entry and described its inspiration: his fond childhood memories of playing with toy trains as an adult.
The update, presented as an eye-catching trailer on PlayStation YouTube, has received widespread acclaim amongst fans who’ve praised it for its creativity. Some even praise it for taking them back to simpler times when there were less worries outside what game to play that day!
“That Dreams project looks highly professional; incredible even. Though it would likely have come by now, we never did see the PS5 version.”
Dreams is one of the most underappreciated games ever.”
“This game feels very nostalgic; like going back in time where you used to imagine doing all sorts of amazing stuff with your toy train! Even though this is exactly why this game exists, I still think it is very enjoyable!”
Dreams is now free on PlayStation 4 and 5 systems for all PlayStation Plus subscribers – but only until next month’s selection of free games arrives!
