Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming soon for PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
Things certainly took us by surprise when Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One months after its initial launch on new-gen consoles and PC. Who could have predicted such news?!?
Before Jedi: Survivor’s release it was confirmed that Cal Kestis would forgoing any previous-gen releases altogether, giving developers more time and focus to create an optimised new-gen experience. Game director Stig Asmussen had raved about lightning fast loading times on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as dualSense controller haptics–clear signs the team intended on taking full advantage of all new-gen features when developing this highly anticipated sequel.
With that in mind, news about Respawn Entertainment’s Xbox One and PS4 ports came as quite an unexpected shocker yesterday (1 August). According to IGN reports from an EA earnings call yesterday (1 August), Respawn is in “early development stages”.
GAMINGbible’s very own Will McCue gave Jedi: Survivor a nine out of 10, hailing it as “the best Star Wars game for a very long time”. In his review he noted how Jedi: Survivor made every improvement upon Fallen Order while adding many features that’ll keep players hooked into it for months and months to come – something special would need to come along in 2023 to compete with it being considered best action/adventure game by its critic.
At this stage, it remains unknown when Jedi: Survivor will release on PS4 and Xbox One; we could still have some waiting. But this announcement should provide great excitement to any who have yet to experience new-gen console gaming!
