Remnant 2 Maximum Trait Points Cap Increase
Once you begin customizing your Remnant 2 build, the more it may cause you to question whether there’s an upper limit for trait points and passive effects your build can utilise.
Remnant 2’s Trait Points can be collected by picking up Tomes of Knowledge found throughout its areas and defeating challenging bosses, and used to increase multiple Traits that provide passive benefits that range from increased health, weapon handling improvements, and shorter skill cooldown times.
Remnant 2 at its initial release appears to limit players to collecting no more than 65 Trait Points at one time, restricting how many Traits can be acquired in total.
Though more restrictive than having access to unlimited Traits as you keep playing the game, this system forces you to consider more carefully which traits would best complement your build.
Be mindful that this cap only applies to Trait Points you acquire through Tomes of Knowledge or defeated bosses.
Up to 25 Trait Points will automatically be awarded during each playthrough, 10 being earned each time you level up one archetype and an additional 10 awarded when using multiple ones.
Each starting archetype also awards five Trait Points that are automatically distributed across your core traits; you’ll easily recognize these orange points against their white counterparts!
Patch 08.04.23 brought with it an increase of five Trait Points as confirmed by Gunfire Games’ patch notes, along with Tome of Knowledge now giving Scrap and EXP when players reach their Trait Cap threshold.
If you are open to venturing beyond what the game offers and relying on community assistance, one recent mod for Remnant 2 increases its Trait Points cap from 241 to 291, giving players access to additional passive bonuses.
