Microtransactions from Assassin’s Creed Mirage leaked.
Video game leaks have become almost an expected aspect of major release titles; gone are the days where we had no clue as to features until starting up a game for ourselves. Leaks may or may not be something we like; whatever our opinion on them, leaks remain here to stay; as evidenced by recent leaks for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Mirage will hit stores early autumn and is said to take back to its roots – back when Altair reigned supreme (though unfortunately won’t return). But unlike past entries in this franchise, this installment features microtransactions.
Microtransactions have long been part of Assassin’s Creed Unity, as well as other Ubisoft titles, so this “news” won’t surprise many – however for fans hoping a return to basics meant no microtransactions, this news comes as something of a disappointment.
Reddit has done its part to ensure fans still receive all of the details regarding this latest development in microtransaction leak, first noticed early morning on Twitter. While images had to be taken down due to copyright restrictions, all details remain available from Reddit as fans remain informed on all developments surrounding it.
Unfortunately, when we say details, that’s an overstatement. Although Assassin’s Creed Mirage tweeted out placeholder text for in-game purchases, no concrete information on what these microtransactions will offer players was revealed in this tweet. Most likely they’ll provide cosmetic options, enabling gamers to alter avatar appearance or skins – likely something similar could occur here too.
Frustrations aside, fans should take heart in knowing that Mirage will be shorter than previous titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Players were previously clocking 60 hours of gameplay when doing a completionist run – this gave players plenty of value but could become tedious over time.
After Ubisoft cut game support was removed in a Valhalla update, which lead to several DLCs being deleted, it seems clear: less is most definitely more when it comes to this franchise.
No matter your opinion of Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s latest news, its one redeeming feature could entice some players back: photo mode. That means assassins who enjoy taking breathtaking screenshots will find photo mode available across platforms to take some breathtaking shots – what an ideal combination between assassinations and photography!
On 12 October 2023, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will become available across three platforms; PlayStation, Xbox and PC will all have access to it.
