Fans agree that the side quests in Assassin’s Creed Origins are some of the finest ever created for this series, making for some highly memorable encounters in each step.
Released in 2017, Assassin’s Creed Origins took fans back to ancient Egypt during the late Ptolemaic period – as its title suggests – exploring its founding of this series of games.
Since 2007, when Assassin’s Creed first hit store shelves, its development has undergone many transformations. While once focused on stealth, parkour, and assassination; recent years’ releases are more about open world activities with side quests, level up options, and expanding skill trees compared to its initial form.
Some have accused Ubisoft of overloading recent Assassin’s Creed titles with so much filler that it may feel overwhelming – an opinion shared by myself and many. Don’t get me wrong; I like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla very much indeed but every time there’s another quest coming my way I feel like that meme from Sabrina the Teenage Witch where Melissa Joan Hart gets fed cake from all sides at once!
Yet even as much of this was present in Assassin’s Creed Origins, it never felt too overwhelming – which may explain why it remains my only Assassin’s Creed game that earned the Platinum Trophy and why many consider Origins the pinnacle of its RPG-era titles.
Fans on Reddit have been discussing Assassin’s Creed Origins and are finding some of its side quests especially engaging. Redditor Kenwayfan provided their initial impressions: “I just started AC Origins today for the first time – here is my impression so far!” Let us know yours as soon as you start it too!
“Origins is one of my favourite AC games; currently replaying it on PS5 after first experiencing it on Xbox One,” stated LilPostPeep. “I love exploring tombs as part of exploring aspects, as well as being able to tame animals – something else which adds much charm.
“I believe side quests should be integrated into the main story because so many characters appear out of nowhere – such as Tahira,” stated Smutty_Lemon, adding, “she would otherwise remain completely skippable without providing you any context about who she is or her motivations unless doing her sidequest”.
Assassins Creed Mirage will return the series to its stealth roots when it releases on October 12, 2023 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Assassin’s Creed Origins has officially arrived for PC, PlayStation and Xbox players and comes equipped with new-gen support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, an Assassin’s Creed patch was implemented specifically for these systems to further increase gameplay experience.
