PlayStation has quietly postponed multiple exclusives until next year.

PlayStation 5 owners have been treated to some great exclusives since its debut in November 2020; with more to come soon it makes for exciting times! Fans are no doubt thrilled.

Fans have been enjoying the fruits of PS5 development through groundbreaking titles like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Returnal as well as Demon’s Souls remake and Horizon Forbidden West expansion ‘Burning Shores.

Coming down the pipe are Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Baldur’s Gate III; one has become an accidental PS5 timed exclusive!

PlayStation 5 exclusive titles have also been delayed without being explicitly delayed, suggesting Sony could be hiding behind an indefinite delay of these titles.

Sony recently reported in their financial report that changes in launch dates of certain first-party titles has had an adverse impact on their 2023 fiscal year and that some exclusives could be postponed from mid-2024 to early 2025 as a result.

No mention was made in the financial report regarding which exclusives had been delayed, however given recent silence about upcoming PS5 exclusives such as Stellar Blade, Death Stranding 2, the Silent Hill 2 remake and Marvel’s Wolverine are likely candidates to have seen any delays due to delays – along with Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us multiplayer game and any “single player experiences”.

PlayStation 5 users have also seen recent system updates bring long-requested graphics features faster than Xbox, as well as experiencing issues that melt USB ports! In related PlayStation news, recent system updates from Sony beat Xbox to the punch with graphics updates!

As for what to expect soon, Baldur’s Gate III for PS5 will launch on 6 September followed by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on 20 October 2023.
