Bethesda offers free Fallout 4 updates for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X.
Last year, Bethesda made an exciting announcement: Fallout 4 would receive a free update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Like Skyrim: Anniversary Edition, Fallout would soon receive an upgrade featuring improved graphics and framerates as well as quality of life mods that offer quality of life features – an awesome opportunity for Fallout fans.
Unfortunately this announcement was made back in October 2022; and now that August has come and gone with no indication when this new-gen update would launch.
Bethesda has not forgotten to fulfill its promise of updating Fallout 4, however the team is currently focused on another game called Starfield which means we may need to wait even longer before diving back in – though given all of Starfield’s excitement it might just be worthwhile waiting!
As can be seen on Twitter (sorry Elon, meet me in the Octagon you coward), Bethesda’s Pete Hines delivered an unorthodox response when responding to a fan who inquired about an upgrade for Fallout 4.
“Not sure if you heard, but we are shipping our new game in three weeks,” he noted. “This will be one of our top priorities; as soon as there’s news or an update we will share it.”
Ouch… but fair. Bethesda must be super busy right now with creating and prepping for an RPG project, so their fans asking where Fallout 4 is must get frustrating quickly.
Starfield will become available beginning 1 September and I don’t expect anyone will miss Fallout 4 for at least some months!
Hines recently allayed fears that Starfield might experience further delays as its launch hasn’t reached gold status yet, yet again. Unfortunately for fans expecting delays again he said “near certainty, no.”
