Experience classic videogames of yesteryear like never before when played back in stunning 4K resolution! It makes playing these old titles all the more fulfilling and nostalgic!

Xbox has long led the charge when it comes to backwards compatibility; unfortunately PlayStation has lagged behind over recent generations. Since introducing their revised PS Plus subscription service though, classic PS1 titles have been made available to subscribers of Extra and Premium tiers of this plan.

Mercifully, Sony has decided not to limit access to its PS1 classics just to PlayStation Plus subscribers; in fact if at any time you purchased any PS1/PSP game through any store – such as PS3/PSP/PS Vita Store – then if they become part of Sony’s subscription service they’re yours at no additional charge – making for happy days ahead!

Game enthusiasts anxiously anticipate each month’s PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium offerings with anticipation; gamers keep tabs on which classic titles might make an appearance on PS1 and PSP, such as Resident Evil or Tomb Raider titles – we need those!

Also, by making PS1 games available to PS4 and PS5, they become accessible without incurring subscription costs to Sony’s service; those who hadn’t bought them before digitally become available to buy through PlayStation Store such as Toy Story 2 and Syphon Filter for example.

With that in mind, you might be pleased to know that a selection of PS1 titles have just made their debut on the PlayStation Store – including Tekken 2, Mr. Driller, Ride Racer 2 and Ride Racer Type-4 at an attractive PS7.99/$9.99 each for Trophy hunters looking for new challenges – none have Trophy support however at present as in Syphon Filter which had this option!

Sooner or later, classic PS1 and PSP titles should become available to buy directly through PlayStation Store. It should be interesting to observe which ones become readily available as standalone purchases on that platform.
