Baldur’s Gate 3 recently released its latest update which is shattering gameplay experience and creating issues within.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has become one of the biggest successes of 2017, earning critical acclaim on PC while building anticipation for its console release.
Larian Studios released Baldur’s Gate 3 for PC on 3 August 2023, and this action RPG quickly made waves among gamers worldwide. Baldur’s Gate quickly become the highest-scoring PC game before entering Steam’s top ten most played list — only for it later to be overthrown by Hogwarts Legacy (so far).
Baldur’s Gate 3 was no different: post-launch patches may be necessary in order to address any unexpected kinks that arise after release into the wild. While you could conduct extensive tests behind closed doors and in early access mode, only then will we truly know the full scope of any potential issues with Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 recently saw a major patch which sought to address over 1,000 bugs and glitches – an ambitious undertaking, considering this game requires around 200 hours to play through and boasts 17,000 different endings! That being said, this list wasn’t unexpectedly large either.
Even when an update aims to fix reported bugs and glitches, its release can often create unanticipated complications – and that has unfortunately been the case with Baldur’s Gate 3 recently.
Larian Studios has responded to reports that an update is crashing the game for some and rendering it unplayable for all, and warned players who saved before this update that any save games made after may no longer load unless an fix for said update can be applied; due to these problems Larian has decided to rollback said update so as to limit further disruption and disruptions in player experiences.
Unfortunately, when paying for a game and finding that it contains bugs and glitches that should have been taken care of beforehand. Larian Studios appears to be on top of things though and all will hopefully be resolved in due course.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has officially arrived on PC and will launch alongside Starfield on 6 September 2023 for PlayStation 5. Due to technical limitations with Series S consoles, its release on Xbox will likely also be postponed at some point in 2023.
According to speculations, Xbox users might not get access to Baldur’s Gate 3 until 2024 at best.
