Starfield Xbox file size has been increased significantly and seems to have expanded.
Starfield will undoubtedly become a massive game, and now that Xbox file updates have taken effect it seems even bigger!
Since Starfield offers players an immersive space adventure experience and allows players to join any one of nine factions while investigating three religions, we knew our consoles needed some space cleared in order to accommodate this game. Some have prepared months ahead in anticipation that Starfield may consume many hours of their life!
Todd Howard has helped ease our fears since Starfield went gold on 16 August by assuring us that its main campaign will only take up to 40 hours (perhaps 30 for fastidious players – we don’t take into account speedrunners who complete games within 10 minutes!). We even disregard speedrunners when considering this estimate!
However, while the estimated main story might not be too daunting, its revised file size of 139.84GB certainly is. As one Redditor pointed out on Reddit: “Ouchy. Time for some cleanup”, and we wholeheartedly agreed! Our Xbox had been disused for quite some time so cleaning off cobwebs and dead games has also become important…
Big-Concentrate-9859 wasn’t surprised, however; she noted, “Considering its supposed scale and scope, Starfield doesn’t take up too much room on my computer compared to MW2 and Warzone.” Whether this statement is accurate is unknown but we think Starfield makes an argument: after years of waiting for its space RPG experience we now finally get Starfield! To accommodate its development effectively it needs room.
Though most are unsurprised by its size, some fans made sure to call attention to what the Xbox S may be going through right now – with one user jokeing “My Xbox Series S has started sweating”. As this console’s existence caused Baldur’s Gate 3 for Xbox to be delayed significantly and fears for its survival is certainly justified.
If you need to prepare an Xbox, remember that there’s still until September 6th until it arrives on both consoles and PC.
