Fans agree: Assassin’s Creed deservedly deserves its own trilogy featuring Kenway.

Fans of Assassin’s Creed believe Ubisoft missed an opportunity by not producing a trilogy about Kenway family.

While recent Assassin’s Creed games often introduce different protagonists with each new entry, fans long for those that followed one character or family from generation to generation.

Ouch… Done and Done Again, Kenway Family! When one thinks of “gaming’s greatest character”, Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood and Revelations comes immediately to mind, the Kenway name may follow closely behind.

In Assassin’s Creed III, protagonist Connor Kenway faced off against his antagonistic father Haysham Kenway of Templar fame; later that same year in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was featured his prequel story which showcased Edward Kenway – known for being one of the greatest protagonists ever featured in an Assassin’s Creed game!

After this point, the family seemingly disappeared from the series with only brief mentions appearing here and there in later titles.

Following Black Flag was Assassin’s Creed Rogue, making an bold decision by having players control an assassin-hunting Templar named Shay Patrick Cormac who Ubisoft apparently wanted to explore further for some time.

Fans have taken issue with Ubisoft’s decision to abandon Haysham Kenway after Black Flag; many believe Assasin’s Creed Rogue should have focused more heavily on her story arc instead of abandoning them altogether, creating something similar to Ezio Trilogy in Assasin’s Creed history.

Reddit user Novel_Assist_6491 voiced this opinion in his post saying, “The Kenway Trilogy was certainly a missed opportunity – given how fans loved the Ezio trilogy, its reception in 3 and 4, Connor and Edward and why Haytham should have had his own game!”

Many fans found the lack of an entire trilogy frustrating for various reasons.

“We did need more on Edward. By the time the first game had concluded I hadn’t quite felt as though he understood his creed; instead he seemed only interested in riches or power – and missed that target time after time.

“AC Rogue was intended to focus on Haytham but due to Forsaken novel’s release with AC3, its focus changed drastically – they didn’t want anything that contradicted or altered lore!”

Haytham is truly fascinating: son of an assassin who goes on to join the templar order but dislikes most other templars (missed opportunity!).

Even though we now have 11 new Assassin’s Creed titles on the way, few will delve back into past adventures from this series – with Mirage having recently received its gold certification!

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will hit stores later this year on October 5, 2016.
