GTA 6 fans appear divided over any potential live service disruption that would limit single player gameplay in GTA 6.

Grand Theft Auto fans appear divided over whether GTA VI will be good or bad for gaming.

Rockstar Games has not officially unveiled Grand Theft Auto VI yet, yet its potential live service model has already caused widespread excitement among gaming fans.

Grand Theft Auto V was widely celebrated by fans; however, many were left disillusioned as its focus shifted to GTA Online with its microtransactions and associated micropayments. Fans anticipating GTA VI are bracing themselves for “microtransaction hell” when its new online mode launches; many even fearing its influence could reach into singleplayer too!

Due to our ignorance about this game, speculations regarding it have spread quickly online. Rumors circulating suggest the open world may become one of the largest ever experienced with new areas and features constantly emerging over time.

Some fans of Rockstar Games are concerned with this live service approach and online debate has ensued between fans who believe Rockstar will provide an enjoyable gameplay experience and those who believe the studio cannot deliver one fully and comprehensively.

Reddit user Rtzx1 addressed criticism about Grand Theft Auto 6, noting how people who believe its release will be less than stellar have already made judgmental statements: ‘GTA 6 will be so much worse than you expect I promise this; can’t wait for these people who think like this to realize just what a masterpiece GTA 6 truly is!”

Other fans were inclined to agree, especially given its long development timeframe which dates as far back as 2015 — two years after GTA V’s initial release.

“After spending over seven years and billions in revenue from microtransactions on creating GTA 6, and earning billions through microtransactions from it, one would hope the game was good. R* is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to video game production – I don’t understand why everyone acts like GTA 6 will surpass an average game.”

“Rockstar Games’ main priority has always been creating compelling singleplayer experiences; people often look forward to being Jason or Lucia protagonists of each Rockstar title they play.” GTA 6 will need to impress, so Rockstar will likely put effort and resources toward doing just that.”

“GTA 6 can’t possibly fail; too much money has already been invested, they have an established formula and that seems unlikely.

Given all of the pre-release hype surrounding GTA VI, it would be difficult to envision GTA VI failing.

While no exact release date for Rockstar Games’ next title has been given, we know their publisher has suggested 2025 – potentially setting us up for an announcement next year!

GTA VI will eventually be made available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms when released.
