Red Dead Redemption 2’s most-despised character from its predecessor has returned as part of an add-on mod.

One of the latest mods for Red Dead Redemption 2 has dramatically modified the model of one of its most dreaded villains from its predecessor game.

Red Dead Redemption fans have unleashed considerable fury against Rockstar Games following its underwhelming re-release of Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation4 and Nintendo Switch, leading them to express displeasure about it being made available again to them.

Re-releasing Red Dead Redemption 2 with no upgrades was disappointing to many fans who expected an all-out remake to bring its visual quality up to Red Dead Redemption 2 standards and use its engine for development. Rumours and insider claims pointed toward such a project being developed by Rockstar; many believed rumors and claims of an official full remake being developed that could bring it up-to-par visually with Red Dead Redemption 2, though that remains unknown at present.

Since that did not transpire, fans have reluctantly come to terms with Rockstar’s decision not to remake Grand Theft Auto III; all their resources likely being allocated towards creating Grand Theft Auto VI instead.

Some players, however, haven’t given up so quickly and taken an “I’ll do it myself” approach by creating multiple mods that bring characters, locations and other assets from the first game into the second.

One of those mods has beautifully recreated Red Dead Redemption’s most hateful antagonist, Agent Ross, as seen in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Agent Ross hunted John Marston throughout the first game’s singleplayer mode and occasionally appeared during its prequel mode to speak to Arthur Morgan regarding Van Der Linde Gang activities.

Recreated models such as this were shared on Reddit by their creator, theKey32. He explained his project by noting: “I Remade RDR1 Agent Ross for RDR2 Engine since Rockstar won’t do it themselves.” Fans applauded TheKey32’s exquisite creation while criticizing Rockstar for not spending some of their billions to release more substantial updates of RDR1.

“Oh God what an evil prick he looks amazing here I just wanna shoot his face like 19 times :p (in all honesty of course!) Beautiful work as always.”

“That moment when the community creates more valuable content for a game than its billion-dollar developer!”

“I wish someone would remake RDR1 as an RDR2 mod, but unfortunately R* would likely take steps to prevent its development.

Red Dead Redemption 2 can be played on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.
