Starfield fans are being hit with sudden cancellations of pre-orders.

Bethesda’s Starfield is the most anticipated video game of this decade. Many reckon it could be a Game Of The Year contender, and own ship. The fans are so excited that they have already begun planning out their playthroughs and kissed loved ones farewell as they prepare to sink hundreds, or even thousands of hours in Bethesda’s latest.

Unfortunatelly, a number of pre-ordered StarfieldConstellation edition gamers are receiving last-minute notifications announcing that their orders were cancelled.

A Reddit user named Beltaine-7716 shared a cancellation on their thread. stated, “I am more than a bit concerned about the update to my order I received” and included a screenshot confirming the tragic event.

Other people soon shared their experiences and suggested that a number of orders had been cancelled.

One user commented: “My order was placed an hour before the Direct on June 11th. Shenanigans were in full swing.” This is a mistake, and hopefully not a large-scale cancellation.

It doesn’t seem to be getting any better either. Even a few months ago, users were returning to this thread and revealing that they too had been affected by a “system mistake”.

Reddit user: “I received an email saying that my preorder had been cancelled because of a System Error.” Called customer service and asked why. I could not find out why the Damn thing was cancelled after pre-ordering for a whole month.

There’s no clear reason for the cancellation of so many orders, but retailers may have simply not had enough inventory to satisfy demand. With just two weeks to go until Starfield launches, hopefully we are past these mysterious cancellations.
