Call Of Duty fans torn over jetpacks’ return
Call of Duty has been since the beginning of time for over twenty years. Whether for better and worse it’s been through many transformations.
In the majority of cases The Call of Duty series has focused on ground-based, combat in the military in particular in the multiplayer options. One of the most memorable aspects of the series is those that are Modern Warfare entries and the games that take place during both World Wars.
But, in 2014 the series experienced a dramatic change in its direction, following the launch of Advanced Warfare. Was there something the issue in the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare I’m sure you’re wondering? It was a great game, and despite the ever-loving Troy Baker, the problem that some players could have encountered with the game was due to the addition of jetpacks.
For the sake of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, it was set in 2054. Therefore, it makes sense that it featured a lot of technological gadgets and weapons. However, when it came to multiplayer features, it was full of many bunny jumping actions, it was able to beat the likes of Halo in the dust.
Jetpack-related snarks in Advanced Warfare would eventually make an appearance in Black Ops III and Infinite Warfare. At least, for some people, it was clear that the Call of Duty series would be back to its more grounded style, with the last of which is Modern Warfare II (2022). On Twitter, however, players have been talking about the need to see jetpacks be reintroduced in the Call of Duty series.
“Should jetpacks make a return in Call of Duty?” was a question posted by an account of a fan in Twitter ModernWarzone, and it is apparent that a large portion of the population is divided over the idea.
“I wish CoD had each developer stick to their speciality, so we got a different style of CoD with each release,” said the HiddenXperia. “Infinity Ward to focus on modern boots-on-the-ground games. Treyarch focuses on historical boots-on-the-ground, and Sledgehammer Games focuses on futuristic and mechanically experimental games.” If you’re honest it’s an excellent choice.
“Wouldn’t prefer having a jetpack CoD every five or six years at the moment. It’s an interesting idea and it would make a good alternative to Warzone,” said Tom Henderson.
“Absolutely not,” replied an obedient Liter from Cola. “No, they already ruined the game once,” smiled BeachGolf.
In the majority of cases there is a feeling that most of the people is in favor of seeing jetpacks come back. Personally, I’m not a huge fan. The show could definitely benefit from an overhaul, and jetpacks could make an appearance in the story.
According to reports, rumours have circulated around suggesting that Call of Duty in 2025 will have upgraded maps of Black Ops II. For the foreseeable time, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is scheduled to release on 10 November, for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
