Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth only will be available in a very limited time of PS5 exclusiveness
There’s only a short time left to see the sequel of the Final Fantasy VII Remake which is now dubbed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and for those that do not own an PlayStation 5, you’ve got more time to wait as some have predicted.
It was known we knew that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was set to launch only to PS5 It’s an interim period. We now know how short. The time frame for exclusivity in the game lasts only three months.
So, non-PlayStation owners will be able to take on the journey along with Cloud and his team earlier than they had planned. Based on the news surrounding the new trailer that dropped at the end of last night’s PlayStation’s State of Play event, Square Enix confirmed the game will only be available for PS5 up to 29 May 2024.
Even though this isn’t an absolute assurance that future platform versions are coming out immediately however, it’s also the shortest exclusive period in a long time and it’s worthwhile to be excited about getting returning to Midgar. The announcement comes in the wake of comments made by Final Fantasy XVIproducer, Naoki Yoshida, who talked about the end of exclusiveness.
Maybe the windows are becoming smaller on Square Enix titles as we are aware that the company has been having a difficult time for some time especially after the low sales of a number of games, including Forspoken. The possibility is that moving up the game would bring additional revenue by the end of the year.
It’s a highly anticipated launch, and it’s possible it’s likely that Square Enix are hedging their hopes for a successful launch. Producer Yoshinori Kitaase starts the hype to go up, he says “This sequel to The Final Fantasy VIIremake includes elements of the original game, and highly enhanced features, such as the world-spanning map available to discover.”
This is a great thing to those who thought the first game was bit more linear than they expected. But, being one of the most memorable RPGs that ever existed the remake is sure to attract a large number of players such as the fact that the initial part of the game sold more than seven million copies across the globe.
