PlayStation Plus’ second biggest free game of 2014 is an absolute shocker
PlayStation’s PlayStation Plus subscription service offers gamers a variety of games including AAA massive-hitters, to indie gems plus more.
If new games are released to PS Plus, the likelihood is it’ll be a bit critically-acclaimed or have the name of a game that will bring perhaps some excitement even on a smaller size. We know this it’s not always the case and this was evident recently by PS Plus’s PS Plus September 2023 lineup, which a few gamers thought was such a flop that they did not want to download the game available within the Essential tier.
The games within this month’s PlayStation Plus Essential September 2023 Tier include Black Desert – Traveler Edition, Generation Zero and the relaunched Saints Row. While every game will be different to each player, the month’s Essential titles aren’t very exciting. The only reason why I’d download game is to finish PlayStation Stars campaigns.
As per Metacritic’s rankings, Black Desert scores 61, Generation Zero scores 45, and Saints Row also scores 61. Just by taking an examination of the Metacritic results, you’ll be easy to see why some PlayStation Plus subscribers were feeling dissatisfied.
Yet, despite Saints Row game receiving a poor reception from gamers, it’s nonetheless was able to make it the second most popular game for PlayStation Plus this year. Yes, really.
TrueTrophies.com reports that at the time of writing, on September 10, 2023 Saints Row is only being beaten by a single game, and that’s another difficult title to play, no other that Battlefield 2042.
As of now, the top-performing PS Plus Essential games to be played in 2023 include:
Battlefield 2042 (March 2023)
Saints Row (September 2023)
“Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (July 2023)
Minecraft Dungeons (March 2023)
Chivalry 2. (May 2023)
In the same vein, PlayStation Plus members can get six free downloads today in just need a couple of days left to enjoy the Bethesda legendary. In addition, it appears that due to low-sales, Saints Row game developer Volition has closed its doors after thirty years in the field of video games.
Saints Row is available now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
