A string of extremely successful games such the the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimand the Fallout series, Bethesda is continuing to grow and is announcing that its most recent RPG might be the most popular game to date.
Starfield launched on 6 September. Starfieldhas been playing for a while and has attained more than 10 million users, as per a recent announcement from the company. This means that it’s Bethesda’s most successful launch to date and it’s a bit unbelievable when you consider that the studio has been responsible for several of the most popular series.
The studio announced the launch on Twitter on the 19th of September to announce the launch. “Thank the over 10 million Starfield players for bringing about the largest launch ever in Bethesda history” the tweet said. It is nevertheless important to remember that it already set a record before it was broken with 6 million participants taking up the sky and, after just a few days since its debut, it is showing that it is not declining.
However, even with its huge success, Starfieldhas been faced with a fair share of adversity. There are some who have been dissatisfied with the constant loading screens, as well as the humorous bugs, it’s likely to come as no surprise that 25 percent of the players did not make it through the intro. The result is that the game currently has the 6.6 rating at Metacritic and is not close to the score of 84 as the result of reviews by critics.
It’s certainly not any less than perfect as our hero Kate Harrold awarded the game an 8.5/10 score and also praised the game’s intriguing story, fascinating adventures, and unlimited access to freedom.
“Starfield is without any doubt an enormous release, and that’s not only since it’s Bethesda’s debut IP in more than 25 years.” she wrote. “Every every now and again there’s a game that comes out that alters our view of what this industry has to offer. Starfield can be such a game. It’s far beyond what we’ve gotten used to an open world to be. Bethesda is creating a world which, despite its huge dimension, retains interest and outstanding focus on detail all through.”
