50 Cent: Blood On The Sand for Xbox Series X remains impressively captivating!
There are countless hidden gems, or at the very least video games which may have passed under gamers’ radars, like 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. One such game could be considered hidden gem.
Published by THQ and developed by now-defunct Swordfish Studios in 2009, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was developed as the sequel to 2005’s 50 Cent: Bulletproof and featured rapper 50 Cent as its protagonist. Since 2009, fans have called for its remake; though that likely won’t occur anytime soon.
At release, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand didn’t receive much critical acclaim – earning only an average score from critics at Metacritic of 71 and from users at 6.1 respectively – however that doesn’t reflect its success with paying customers; even though technically gifted games might fall below expectations they still can provide charm that could turn it into something like a cult classic; perhaps 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand falls into that category?
50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is an accessible action game designed for quick gameplay sessions with basic requirements to shoot everything that moves and blow things up – much like watching an empty-your-brain popcorn movie! Plus it stars Eminem as an immoral cop.
At its heart, one of the great strengths of Xbox Series X|S (and Xbox One), lies its backwards compatibility feature – one which not only adds 4K visuals and may provide 60fps gaming – is backwards compatibility; unfortunately 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand only benefits from resolution-related enhancements but still gives it an advantage over Xbox 360 and PS3. Yet as can be seen below in this clip it seems to perform at an extremely steady framerate rate.
“50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was truly one of the best co-op experiences I’ve had!” exclaimed Redditor p4ul1023 when opening this thread of discussion. “It is pure mindless fun – being able to play this on Series X is truly awesome!”
“Haha, what an enjoyable game this was!” exclaimed Dirtydubya in 2023. He noted how this title didn’t receive much appreciation when first released: no one liked it then! RealEatMeImaDanish shared their love of RealEatMeImaDanish as one such classic that may now cost too much but had great memories from playing.
Unfortunately, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was removed from Xbox Marketplace due to music license issues; thus forcing you to purchase physical copies through third-party sellers only.
Just checked US eBay and copies are going for $50 to $100 each, while more reasonable pricing can be found from retailers such as CeX in the UK (PS20 to PS30)! Nevertheless, should you manage to acquire this beloved game you’ll know it remains backward compatible with modern Xbox consoles!
