It has finally been unlocked: The Witcher 3’s final secret! And it is truly astounding.

It has finally taken players enough time and dedication to discover The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s final secret; which speaks volumes for its massive scale and scale of adventure.

CD Projekt RED’s sprawling open-world RPG The Witcher 3 offers side activities, diversions and surprise twists at every turn – so much so that its mysteries have kept fans engaged with this fascinating world for so long! No wonder people cannot put down playing it!

Since I had completed The Witcher 3 multiple times on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5, my mind was as shocked as everyone else’s when its final secret was discovered around one year ago by players.

YouTuber xLetalis spent over a year searching for one specific Easter Egg in The Witcher 3 after one of Philipp Weber’s quest designers hinted there may still be one hidden in there somewhere.

Weber had responded to an upload by xLetalis on YouTube about Vivienne de Tabris from Blood And Wine expansion by asking when players may finally discover “Vivienne’s last secret”.

Predictably, the community took this as an invitation and set about to identify what Weber meant by what was said in her post. After narrowing their search down further, xLetalis finally located her source – to discover exactly what that was though requires some spoilers!

Geralt first encounters Vivienne during a Blood And Wine quest titled ‘The Warble of a Smitten Knight’ and soon learns of a horrible curse which is slowly changing her into an animal; standard fantasy fare.

Although there may be multiple solutions to Vivienne’s quest, one solution involves moving her curse from herself onto an egg of some bird. Unfortunately, with magic comes complications; and one such consequence would be her untimely demise in seven years’ time.

If this option is chosen, Vivienne will spend her remaining years traveling around and exploring. To facilitate this event, xLetalis used The Witcher 3 console commands to move Vivienne to Skellige quickly while speeding up time so she could spend seven full years there before ultimately dropping dead–an unsettling Easter Egg indeed!
