PlayStation fans are demanding that exclusive series be revived.
PlayStation fans believe Insomniac Games must resurrect its Resistance: Fall Of Man series.
Before Insomniac Games made their mark with Marvel’s Spider-Man, they had worked on numerous franchises before eventually landing upon everyone’s favourite wall-crawler.
Ratchet & Clank, Spyro The Dragon and Resistance: Fall Of Man are three well-known examples.
Resistance games were released exclusively for PlayStation consoles and featured first-person shooter action set during an alternative version of World War 2, where some of the world’s most powerful nations instead battled an alien force to win victory over each other.
Chimera takes control of Earth by turning ordinary humans into supersoldiers; leaving Sergeant Nathan Hale responsible for leading an anti-Chimera resistance group and driving them from UK territory.
Though not Asomniac’s most celebrated IP, Insomniac Still Life enjoys significant support among fans who hope that it continues in some capacity.
Reddit user the_light_of_dawn expressed their desire for Resistance series revival for modern audiences: “Just watched this series again after 15 years and would love a soft reboot or whatever happens with this.
Other fans shared this sentiment and hope Insomniac Games can resurrect the series for current-gen platforms through either rebooting it, or recreating original titles with enhanced graphics and gameplay.
“My first PlayStation3 game blew my mind. But then again, almost two decades have gone by”
“A few days ago, I stated my wish that they remastered the series for next-gen consoles – I would buy it so quickly my bank account would get whiplash!
“Men Insomniac have always been so amazing”
Insomniac Games’ next project on their slate is Marvel’s The Wolverine, which recently entered full development according to one of its designers. At present however, most fans of Insomniac will likely wait patiently for Spider-Man 2 before buying another Insomniac title.
On 20 October, Spider-Man: Homecoming will make its PlayStation 5 exclusive debut.
