Cyberpunk 2077 will receive its next major update to address one of its more pressing errors.
Were they corrupted save files”? Cyberpunk 2077 PlayStation 5 players are suffering a rare issue wherein their save game files have begun corrupting and wiping out any progress made during play, leading them to start from the beginning again when opening up the game. Nothing puts fear into players like having their saved progress gone and having to start all over.
CD Projekt Red is aware of these problems and is working on a fix, which should arrive with version 2.01 soon. According to their blog on their developer’s website, this patch should address corruption issues and game crashes reported by players.
There will also be “performance improvements” coming to PC and console games in this patch update, including:
- Automatic Love no longer displays an undulating screen from selecting specific dialogue options when talking with Johnny at the end. In The Heist, V will no longer fall through an elevator when riding to the 42nd floor with low FPS settings.
- Fix for an issue where controller inputs would show when playing with keyboard and mouse only, cycling through weapons could change cyberware appropriately and be adequately activated when approaching quest areas for Breaking News Quests.
- Vehicle radio volume will be adjusted so it does not appear too quiet compared to other sounds in-game.
- Addressed the problem of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing its maximum save file size limit. Note that this won’t solve corrupted saves before updating; if this occurs to you, maintain an effective save by manually saving until 2.01 arrives and replace with it as necessary.
- CD Projekt Red has noted performance enhancements on PCs and consoles alike, particularly within the Dogtown area. They suggest players “stay tuned for more details,” suggesting additional fixes may be rolled into this patch update.
