Spyro 4: Mystery Of The Dragon has made its first online debut ahead of its official reveal date.
Spyro The Dragon remains one of the most loved PlayStation classics ever, earning equal reverence to Crash Bandicoot in terms of fan devotion in its day.
Since that initial introduction of Spyro, its fan base has only expanded further as more fans enjoy him across multiple platforms and PlayStation. Yet we’ve yet to experience an all-new entry from him!
Spyro Reignited Trilogy was released for PlayStation in 2018, featuring remasters of original games from 1998-2000; but for new installments we would need to go back 10 years further with The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon in 2008.
Fans of the Spyro franchise are hungry for new game release in 15 years; surely now would be an appropriate time. Well, it looks as if those patient fans may finally get what they wish for!
Sleepytruffle posted concept art and details provided by an individual named Nicholas Kole who previously worked on both Spyro: Reignited Trilogy as well as Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on his personal website.
According to its website, Spyro 4: Mystery of the Dragon will be its title. While multiple titles since Spyro 3: Year Of The Dragon exist under that banner name, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time suggests an approach similar to Spyro’s 4.
Reports indicate that both Spyro and Cynder will be playable characters in this new multiverse scenario game similar to Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Though their paths don’t meet, their respective stories seem connected while interactions still take place separately in each level of playthrough.
Furthermore, reports state that an announcement trailer will be unveiled on 5 October 2023 with Spyro 4 set for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S release dates. As these rumours remain unverified at present we should treat them accordingly until further evidence surfaces to support or contradict these claims.
Back in April 2023, fans went wild after they spotted an Spyro 4 tease online that sent shockwaves through gaming circles. We hope that when combined with previous and recent rumor reports and speculation surrounding Activision Publishing Inc’s official announcement in coming weeks.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy can now be purchased on PC, PlayStation 4 (PS4TM), Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms.
