Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition arrives online just days after Phantom Liberty launch
CD Projet RED’s sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 has experienced quite the journey since its launch.
Cyberpunk 2077 saw its initial disappointing release pulled by Sony from the PS Store, then made an incredible rebound and saw several content updates that finally elevated it to what we desired. While initially intended as an RPG set in Night City, some have finally seen that fantasy experience with Cyberpunk 2077!
Last month saw the highly-anticipated release of Phantom Liberty expansion, which introduced new locations within Night City and mission and side activities starring Idris Elba as Solomon Reed (played by Idris himself!). Alongside it came an important content update featuring quality-of-life enhancements, including new skill tree system implementation and upgraded AI for enemies, as well as other improvements that make for a thrilling gaming experience.
At present, you can purchase both Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion from any platform store of choice digitally; there currently does not appear to be an option for the physical bundle. We anticipate seeing an answer soon enough!
Redditors spotted that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition would soon receive a PEGI rating, likely including its base game and expansion content and past updates and DLC preloaded on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S systems. PC users weren’t mentioned here because physical releases are infrequent on these platforms.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty was reviewed as being of high quality by us, and in its review, we stated: “CD Projekt RED are concluding their work on Cyberpunk 2077 with great skill, making the most out of all its enormous potential and offering one more unforgettable adventure”.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition has yet to receive an exact release date, though we anticipate hearing of its announcement within days or weeks. Watch, as Phantom Liberty can already be played across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
