Ubisoft accidentally revealed Assassin’s Creed Rift by mistake!

Ubisoft may have accidentally misnamed their latest release Assassin’s Creed Mirage; seemingly previously known by another name.

GAMINGbible’s Sam called out Mirage as being “an enjoyable return to form for the series, and had great pleasure playing through it […] […] Ubisoft should consider treating Mirage as its new baseline while continuing to develop it further.” Assassin’s Creed Mirage earned Metacritic scores between 77 and 78; Valhalla placed lower with scores in the low 80s – but nonetheless remains an enjoyable AC title that may or may not have had another name altogether.

Reddit user The_Iceman2288 reported on Reddit that while unlocking an achievement on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, while using Xbox Backend it displayed as “Assassin’s Creed Rift.” While Rift may simply have been its codename or possibly it was originally planned as the title – either way it seems perfectly valid as an AC title!

Next in the franchise is Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, which remains without its full name as of yet. According to leakers, leakers suggest it will feature male samurais and female shinobi characters from Japan and Africa respectively – with leakers suggesting one being an African refugee! Scheduled to launch sometime around 2024 – hopefully we will learn more soon enough!

Before then, fans have had much to look forward to in terms of new Assassin’s Creed titles – including Nexus (an immersive virtual reality experience) and Jade, their first free-to-play mobile RPG effort from Assassin’s Creed – both making quite the feast! All told, fans of Assassin’s Creed can expect plenty of feasting ahead.
