One Grand Theft Auto fan has shown their mathematical prowess by attempting to estimate the difference in map sizes between Grand Theft Auto V and the upcoming title Grand Theft Auto VI.

Rockstar Games has yet to confirm much of Grand Theft Auto VI’s details, yet leaks suggest we could return to Vice City since 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Leaked footage revealed depicting Vice City Metro stations along with some familiar locations such as Malibu Club, Ocean View Hotel, Little Haiti, and Vice Beach; with Rockstar verifying this leak as authentic, we’re nearly confident GTA 6 will occur here.

If this theory holds, Vice City may also appear significantly more prominent than GTA V’s San Andreas,, located in Southern California. To prove his point, one Reddit user layered GTA V’s coordinates onto what we believe may be Vice City to demonstrate its size and growth potential.

“Here is a size comparison I created from DuPzOr’s most recently revised VI map taken from video coordinates provided,” they stated. The GTA V map was placed precisely at its game coordinates (exactly within 50 units in both directions on X and Y); due to my ineptitude with math, this went over my head very quickly – however, the accompanying image clearly shows the vast scaling difference between both games.

“Taking into account confirmed Y coordinates from videos of GTA VI, its map is already just over 1000 rage units longer than GTA V”, they stated. Furthermore, taking X coordinates as evidence, GTA VI’s map extends over 2,300 more rage units beyond what GTA V could ever manage.

Although they appear knowledgeable of what they’re discussing, they remind viewers that this map could extend hundreds or even thousands of coordinates further; unfortunately, it would be impossible for anyone outside its borders to ascertain accurately. Either way, it appears more prominent than before, which may explain why an announcement for Grand Theft Auto VI has taken so long.

According to reports circulating October 26th, it may come back.
