The Red Dead Redemption update brings 60FPS!

Since March 19, 2011, it has finally seen improvements over the 2010 version in game playability.

Fans were far from impressed with Rockstar’s remaster (or conversion, as Rockstar calls it) of Red Dead Redemption in August, especially given expectations were sky-high following 2018’s launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 with its incredible world and attention to detail, increasing hopes that one would happen sooner rather than later.

But that all changed in late 2023 with the announcement of a remake of the 2010 game being rereleased for PS4 and Nintendo Switch platforms; outraged people discussed graphics remaining largely untouched while multiplayer was entirely removed, adding fuel to outrage as soon as it became known that port would run at 30 FPS for $49.99/PS39.99 price point.

Fans were outraged over Rockstar Games’ free inclusion of Undead Nightmare DLC; many voiced their displeasure via public solid outrage on social media platforms and review websites. This is evidenced in the the recent 1.03 update,, the option for switching the 60 FPS settings on and off is now provided!

Game development is is never straightforward, yet efforts have been made to incorporate 60 FPS in Red Dead Redemption Remaster for PlayStation 5. Players downloaded through backward compatibility should now find an option within display options to set your preferred frame rate in-game.

Excitement over this update has spread quickly amongst fans on Twitter, who were seen discussing its potential impacts and envisioning its effects on the Red Dead franchise’s future.

I hope Rockstar makes an updated next-gen version for RDR2’s fifth anniversary next month!
Rockstar seems to have considered community feedback more directly – the price seems more justified now!
Strangely, 60 FPS mode isn’t currently available to standard PS4 or Nintendo Switch players; whether or not developers plan to make this available across all versions is unknown. at any rate, having this mode available would undoubtedly make things better in terms of immersion for everyone involved in gameplay.

Players ultimately decide if this port is worth PS39.99 or not.
