PlayStation Plus’ three free games were not well received by its subscribers and saw one of its lowest turnout numbers this year.

October has been an eventful month for PlayStation fans. Sony made two major announcements last week – first was an all-new model for the PS5, without vertical stand support; secondly, they revealed that PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will soon be able to cloud-stream select games as part of their membership plan.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Essential subscribers received three new free monthly titles as well as some spooky additions to the Extra game library.

Three monthly releases this month included Weird West, Farming Simulator 22 and The Callisto Project; with fans believing only The Callisto Project to be worth trying. Unfortunately none of this month’s offerings has impressed fans enough; this can be seen through PlayStation gameplay data analysis.

Reportedly, PlayStation Plus game interest has dropped 9.44% year-to-date despite titles such as Black Desert – Traveler Edition, Generation Zero and Saints Row (2022) being immensely popular despite poor reviews or launch reception.

While The Callisto Project was an appealing option to include during October when player interest in horror games is peaking, it appears to have failed to pique fan enthusiasm – possibly due to some players viewing it as just an inferior version of Dead Space.

However, this month’s Extra game catalogue lineup more than makes up for any deficiencies, with its wide array of quality titles like Alien Isolation, Dead Island Definitive Collection and Outlast 2. Perfect choices to get into the Halloween spirit are Alien Isolation, Dead Island Definitive Collection and Outlast 2, among many more!

So it seems the tides have turned, with November’s PlayStation Plus lineup promising something great to play for all subscribers.
