Sony PlayStation is offering gamers another long-awaited update.
Sony appears poised to introduce achievement trophies on PC for players looking to unlock that precious platinum just as console players do.
Earning a platinum PlayStation trophy is the sign that you’ve genuinely conquered a game, proving to your friends how accomplished you really are at gaming. Many will rush to Platinum Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 after its release this Friday (20 October). As our review stated, “This amazing fantasy came to life and realized like never before by Insomniac Games… The resultant heartfelt Spider-Man story features twists, turns, and show-stopping spectacle.” But I digress… not only console gamers will become platinum owners; PC gamers too are joining in on the fun as PC gamers will join in on all this fun as Insomniac Games set up console gamers to do just this…
TrueTrophies has reported that Sony is testing support for PlayStation trophies on PC in an effort to open access to the PlayStation Network for PC gamers fully. Our team found a trophy in the PSN backend listing PC in addition to PS5.
TrueTrophies was then able to verify that this listing was indeed separate and independent of PS5 trophies; further investigation showed it did not link directly to any game – suggesting this test run by Sony is currently taking place.
Sony has made significant strides to increase their PC output recently. Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart were recently made available on PC with outstanding results; The Last of Us Part I’s PC port wasn’t so fortunate, but hopefully, lessons were learned from that glitchy debacle; PSN PC integration will hopefully become available very shortly afterwards.
