Cryptark was developed and published by Alientrap as a 2D sci-fi shooter game “where players assume the role of heavily armed pirates seeking government contracts by board alien space hulks armed with deadly alien weaponry. You must create a plan of attack, choose equipment loadout options wisely, and destroy their central core to emerge victorious.”
The game features procedurally generated alien space-hulks to board and defeat, an immersive replayable campaign, leaderboard rankings, a catchy soundtrack, and over 70 weapons available to choose from – which RockPaperShotgun described as being “richly strategic.” At the same time, Kotaku reported on how it developers had ‘got it right.”
