AI should not pose too great of a threat, particularly if we engage in Pokemon battles against it.

Recently, an artificial intelligence was put to the test as it attempted to beat all of Pokemon Red but unfortunately failed miserably at doing so.

The programmer behind this project shared it on Youtube, noting they gave their AI algorithm 50,000 hours of training on everything needed to successfully play and defeat Pokemon Red – though after thousands more hours it still hadn’t begun its battle against him!

So as to keep AI motivated, a reward system was implemented which awarded points for accomplishing certain activities within the game; such as discovering items or winning battles or discovering a new path etc.

Starting off strong, they made quick work of getting themselves to Brock, the Rock-Type Gym Leader in no time at all. There can be some challenge depending on which Pokemon are chosen at the outset and those collected along their journey; but for most part it was straightforward pickings.

AI was faced with something of an uphill climb; in total it required over 7000 hours before finally beating its gym and receiving its badge.

Misty was initially defeated after several hours. Now over 50K hours have been dedicated to their cause!

Reasons given as to why it fails at Pokemon include bizarre decisions made prior to battles. One such instance would include placing Pokemon into its PC instead of at its disposal and thus shortening fights far more rapidly than they otherwise might.

Pokemon games’ strategies tend to rely on random trial-and-error in an attempt to achieve victory, which can quickly lead to defeat as understanding type advantages is key in winning these battles.

Here’s hoping the AI achieves its dream of becoming a Pokemon master – I wish them the best of luck in doing so.
