Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 was first released 23 years ago and I still find the series mesmerising. For many RTS and PC gaming fans alike, Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 remains one of their greatest RTS titles, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Starcraft as being deep, accessible and endlessly replayable titles.

Reddit became the place for discussion around older games like Command & Conquer when EA bought Westwood Studios; I must admit this made me smile as it brought back so many fond memories from when I played C&C on original PlayStation. One commenter made his feelings known immediately by attacking EA directly for having “ruined that franchise when they took over Westwood Studios!” Another hit directly for its core by declaring, “Man EA really screwed that franchise up when they acquired Westwood Studios! which had some old retro gamers coming together once more in terms of conversation around an earlier release – something this commenter made me smile while indignantly claimed they played C& Conquer with joyous nostalgia back when played originally on PS original PS!

“Tiberian Sun and this were my all-time favourite games when growing up”, writes u/Great-Reference9322 and they weren’t alone reminiscing over old memories; plenty of fans spent some time sharing stories reliving how to access C&C; one gamer recounting having to sneak past her mom’s room with creaky hardwood floors in order to access it after bedtime in order to play C&C!

Another user, u/Creski, shares her memories by recounting its full intro with pinpoint accuracy and receiving praise in various forms from many. One user wrote simply “Top 5 for sure; I miss those days”, while another added: Yuri’s revenge still ranks high as my favourites – loved that mad lad!

Unfortunately, Command & Conquer series appears to have fallen on hard times lately, yet many fans would welcome a remaster of some of its older titles – Red Alert trilogy would make great additions and give us Tim Curry to appreciate in an entirely new light!
