As long as our understanding is correct, Assassin’s Creed games tend to focus on taking us back in time; but, according to recent information obtained via datamine, future-themed instalments could soon arrive as well.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage may not be perfect, but it marks a welcome return to form for this beloved franchise. GAMINGbible’s Sam wrote in our review: “I sincerely hope Ubisoft treat Mirage as their new baseline going forward while still evolving it further, whilst keeping parkour simplistic enough that often feels like playing itself when all you’re doing is holding down buttons; which was unfortunate since Baghdad provided so many exciting places for exploration; furthermore this game features many hidden secrets buried so deep it required dataminers in order to uncover it!

As reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, some cut dialogue has reportedly been unearthed that links Mirage with Codename Hexe – found by YouTuber Sliderv2, who found it from an unreleased post-credits scene featuring an antenna situated near an oasis in which two Animus employees engage in discussion about one of its satellite dishes. This datamined dialogue could serve to bridge Mirage with Hexe in future releases of Codename Hexe.

They refer to the 21st century as “ancient history”, further exploring an “shift”. We often see AC games flash back to modern life in our present-day, yet now looks set to become ancient history – take a look below for proof.

Ubisoft is yet to unveil Codename Hexe in full, which may account for this scene being cut short – keeping a sense of mystery alive may have something to do with it too; take all theories with a grain of salt; however I find it refreshing for this series that explores new directions like this one.
