Red Dead Redemption 2 can now run at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5.
Red Dead Redemption fans want many things from Rockstar Games; from television series and expanded maps to reaching 60fps on PS5. While not officially sanctioned by them, both these goals may become reality at some point in future versions of RDR II.
Twitter user @illusion has shown us all how attainable 60fps for PS5 can be; their video posted reveals it. Currently, this video has amassed 12,200 likes and 887 reposts; yet nowhere in it does the OP explain how they managed it!
“OHHH MY GODDD, WHY ISN’T ROCKSTAR UPDAATING THE FPS IT’S SO SMOOTH,” lamented one fan; another expressed their wish that Rockstar release a 60fps patch before adding “don’t know why they won’t”. It can be challenging to comprehend Rockstar’s reasoning behind why PS5 players still can’t access what’s missing without hacking their consoles; one cynic suggested harshly: that developers don’t patch because RDR II meat riders will buy $60 upgrades… Ouch.
Only recently did fans receive news that Red Dead Redemption’s 60fps patch would become available, which left many of them frustrated instead of excited. Their disappointment stems from wanting this update for both Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, the latter of which has been considered “the best open world game ever made.” One angry Redditor posted their thoughts: “F***king hell man… Quietly add it to RDR 2? What gives?” while soon afterwards another one posted similarly but left off dropping explicit language because one fan had used enough profane words before them – another fan had said enough profanities before their own fan had said enough f-bomb.
Though cynicism towards Rockstar may be understandable given how long gamers have waited, it would be unfair to accuse the developer of neglect; their attention may currently lie elsewhere. Still, with no sign of GTA VI trailer appearing anywhere yet again this week, patience has taken an enormous blow and now represents nothing short of despair for fans waiting.
Please allow us a moment of reflection as we watch this 60fps video over and over, revelling in each moment until reality strikes and it must come back into focus.
