Xbox and Switch owners cannot play PlayStation’s exclusive horror game.
“It’s too crazy” may assuage any fears of Christmas Massacre’s developers that their game may be banned – at least on PlayStation and likely other consoles too (though Steam offers access).
Puppet Combo provided this response when they were asked by Twitter whether Christmas Massacre would come out for Xbox: “No. It’s too wild.” But wait till you hear what Nintendo Switch developers said!
“No, the game’s too crazy for Switch.” Wow! What an insane Christmas game this is! Luckily if you wish to join in the festivities you can do so both on Sony’s console as well as PC!
Christmas Massacre is an old-school title made in the style of grainy PlayStation graphics. While you might assume using retro technology would reduce blood and gore, this in fact gives developers even greater license to embrace brutality in every detail of this title.
Developers themselves recently realized the game is too graphic for Switch release; one developer noted they spent many dollars developing it but ultimately couldn’t release it due to Nintendo. Xbox was another story entirely; developers reported “We still try our hardest to bring every title onto Xbox, and they say no”.
Oddly enough, given that similarly gory games exist across each market. Perhaps its the developers’ decision to employ an extremely graphic engine which magnifies bloody scenes even further?
Who knows whether the developer reworks their plotline to target wider release? No comments have yet been provided as this story unfolds.
