GTA 6 new leak brings out lots of details.

As fans haven’t yet seen a trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, many are using details from last year’s data leak to gain more insight into what we should expect from its crime sequel.

The September 2022 leak saw both videos and documents emerge onto the internet for fans to pore over, although we do not condone hacking that disclosed all this data – yet fans understandably wanted more insight into one of their most anticipated titles ever!

Reddit user @Tobbelobben30 has been going over the data from the leak and discovered mentions of “locomotive technology”, a patent held by Rockstar Games which refers to how an NPC will move.

There are over 200 presets for AI characters in GTA V including ProceduralMotion and Emotional LocoRequests which describe how NPCs move and react in the surrounding world. Rockstar Games strives to ensure GTA V feels as authentic as possible and this could explain these settings – so what could these mean?

The first preset indicates NPC movement being generated dynamically so AI animates their movements based on what’s going on around them, while the second preset suggests they react emotionally; for example, we might witness an NPC who feels threatened by our player character act differently depending on which threat there was making each NPC feel more distinct and individual.

Presets include references to “Taming” and ‘HorseAvoidance”, both suggesting interactions with animals may expand beyond GTA V and include mechanics seen in Red Dead Redemption 2.
