Hogwarts Legacy fans were left floored when they experienced Harry Potter RPG for Switch and its outstanding performance.
Open-world adventures always pose a risk when released across different consoles. While many people, myself included, enjoy using our beloved Nintendo Switch console, it sometimes struggles when handling large games – something Hogwarts Legacy fans were concerned about initially; but these fears proved unnecessary as its performance of this RPG far surpassed any expectations!
Since 2017, and with no major update other than an OLED version, the Switch has become one of the more venerable consoles on the market. While we hear various rumours of its successor’s impending arrival, nothing concrete exists to guide our expectations; so instead we all just hold onto hope for what lies ahead and hope and pray the Switch can deliver again!
After Mortal Kombat 1’s poor performance on Switch and its subsequent fan backlash against its port, Hogwarts Legacy players understandably had cause to worry. However, an unexpected gameplay leak on this small but powerful handheld console has stunned its players; much of the footage from it has unfortunately been deleted off Reddit; hopefully though fans’ reactions and praise prove the wait has been worth their while!
“That looks… good? Can’t believe it’s running at all,” exclaimed one gamer in surprise, while another noted, “the fact they took more time modifying other versions to work with Switch’s limitations was positive sign for me. Although delays such as Baldur’s Gate 3 due to Xbox Series S limits can often frustrate gamers, sometimes delays may prove beneficial in terms of creating something better overall.”
Hogwarts Legacy has impressed everyone by looking “better” than they could ever imagine, prompting excitement among fandom members ahead of its release on 14 November. But one cautious Steam Deck player cautioned them before viewing, “Just to clarify as a Steam Deck player, during its intro portion I thought ‘this isn’t so bad’ only for it to turn bad when reaching Castle.”
After tweaking settings and optimizing performance updates, performance had improved slightly after playing through an intro area test of the Switch version of this game. Just to note this is not necessarily indicative of its quality out-of-the-box.”
