Superman: Awakens Unreal Engine Trailer Is Absolutely Epic
An amateur Superman cinematic is perhaps the greatest rendition of Superman we’ve had for some time now.
James Gunn has taken over as director of DC’s cinematic universe and will launch their rebooted franchise through Superman: Legacy, providing us with our first glimpse at Superman on screen once again.
Gunn has stated his intent for his new Superman films to stand on their own from Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel trilogy; therefore, Henry Cavill won’t reprise the role; David Corenswet will step in instead as Superman actor.
James Gunn has drawn considerable scrutiny for his version of Superman that doesn’t quite do justice to both character and plot, yet is also sufficiently entertaining – yet many remain doubtful that James Gunn can pull it off convincingly based on this fan film’s example. But with careful study he might just pull it off!
Superman: Awakens is a stunning fan film. Running only 5 minutes long, it perfectly encapsulates both hope and wonder in Kryptonian culture without turning him into some type of psychopath as so many other DC stories do.
Taken as inspiration is Kingdom Come storyline in which Batman’s number-one enemy The Joker attacks Daily Planet building where everyone in it dies including Superman’s sweetheart Lois Lane – including her assasination by Superman himself!
After someone takes matters into their own hands and begins administering justice without regard for society, Superman flees into exile until such time that humanity needs him again. Eventually though he makes an unexpected comeback.
Read this story of DC or comic fandom for yourself to truly experience it – now adapted into an engaging short film adaptation!
After Superman describes his past mistakes and disasters that could have been avoided had he not left Metropolis, this short ends with DC’s greatest hero returning and extolling its value in providing hope and joy for those in need of him.
It truly is incredible, and if there’s any chance it could turn into an actual full project it could become the greatest Superman film of all time.
